Player Matchup Dashboard: Passing YPG
- Dak Prescott (O/U 282.5 passing yards) will line up against a Detroit defense that is excellent against the run (4th in rushing YPG) but still struggles to defend the pass (27th in passing YPG). Given that Dallas has had issues establishing their own ground game (31st in rushing YPG & YPC) and that they will be facing a top 5 run defense, Prescott’s arm will be a key piece of the offensive gameplan in Week 6. Prescott is averaging 311 YPG in the L4 weeks with 7 TD’s and threw for 345 yards and 2 TD’s on 26-38 passing in last year’s Week 17 matchup against Detroit. The Lions’ secondary added two corners early in this year’s draft, but has been exposed by Geno Smith (38-56, 395 yards, 1 TD) and Matthew Stafford (34-49, 317 yards, 1 TD).
- CJ Stroud (O/U 235.5 passing yards) will enjoy an excellent matchup on the road against NE’s 24th ranked secondary that is also 27th in passes of 10+ allowed. Stroud leads a Houston passing attack that ranks 1st in passing YPG and passes of 10+ yards into Foxborough and has been excellent in the L2 weeks against Buffalo and Jacksonville, throwing for 331 yards and 1 TD and 345 yards and 2 TD’s respectively. Stroud will be without WR Nico Collins and some rain is in the forecast, but he’ll be facing a defense that’s been taken advantage of by Brock Purdy (15-27, 288 yards, 1 TD), Aaron Rodgers (27-35, 281 yards, 2 TD’s) and Geno Smith (33-44, 327 yards, 1 TD) this season.
- Caleb Williams (O/U 244.5 passing yards) and the Bears head to London to face a Jaguars’ secondary that’s among the league’s worst, ranking 31st in passing YPG and 30th in passes of 10+ yards. Williams and the Bears’ offense has been all over the board this season, but hehas shown flashes of his potential over the L3 weeks after difficult matchups against Houston (4th in passing YPG allowed) and Tennessee (1st) to start the season. Over the L3 weeks, Williams has cleared 300+ yards twice and is completing 67%+ of his passes. He now will face a Jags secondary that’s banged up and was most recently lit up in Week 5 by Joe Flacco (33-44, 359 yards, 3 TD’s). CJ Stroud (27-40, 345 yards, 2 TD’s), Josh Allen (23-30, 263 yards, 4 TD’s) and Tua Tagovailoa (23-37, 338 yards, 1 TD) have also gone off against the Jags.

Player Matchup Dashboard: Rushing YPG
- Saquon Barkley (O/U 86.5 rushing yards) and the Eagles will face a Browns’ run defense that ranks 25th in rushing YPG and 31st in YPC and runs of 10+ yards. Barkley is averaging nearly 109 rushing YPG and has cleared this number in 3 of his first 4 starts in Philly. Barkley is averaging 18 carries per game and ranks 3rd in the league in runs of 20+ yards, while Cleveland ranks 31st in runs of 20+ allowed. AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith and Lane Johnson will all return this week, which should provide a boost in the passing game and ensure that the Eagles can extend drives and get Barkley touches.
- Josh Jacobs (O/U 66.5 rushing yards) leads a GB rushing attack that ranks 3rd in rushing YPG and runs of 10+ yards and 8th in YPC. He will now line up against an Arizona defense that ranks 28th in rushing YPG that has allowed Jordan Mason (14 carries, 89 yards, 6.4 YPC), Brian Robinson (21 carries, 101 yards, 4.8 YPC, 1 TD), David Montgomery (23 carries, 105 yards, 4.6 YPC, 1 TD) and Jahmyr Gibbs (16 carries, 83 yards, 5.2 YPC) all have outsized success in the L3 weeks.
- Jahmyr Gibbs (O/U 57.5 rushing yards) will face Dallas run defense that’s been exposed on multiple occasions by Derrick Henry (25 carries, 151 yards, 6.0 YPC, 2 TD’s) and Alvin Kamara (20 carries, 115 yards, 5.8 YPC, 3 TD’s). Dallas is banged up on their front 7 and will be without DE’s Micah Parsons and Demarcus Lawrence and LB Eric Kendricks. Gibbs has cleared this number in each of his L3 games and figures to be an integral part of the offensive gameplan against a Dallas run defense that ranks 24th in rushing YPG allowed.
- Alvin Kamara (O/U 59.5 rushing yards, O/U 32.5 receiving yards) figures to be an integral part of the gameplan against a TB defense that loves to blitz and will likely dial up more pressure against rookie QB Spencer Rattler, who is starting in place of Derek Carr. Kamara is banged up dealing with hip and hand injuries but does not have an injury designation. This season, he is averaging 18 carries, 78 rushing YPG along with 4.6 receptions, 5.6 targets and nearly 43 receiving YPG. DT Vita Vea missed a few games for TB which has some influence on their run defense’s metrics, but they do also rank 30th in the league in RB receiving yards allowed, while Kamara leads all RB’s in receptions and receiving YPG. Expect Kamara to play a key role in NO’s offensive gameplan and function as a safety valve for the rookie QB out of the backfield.

Player Matchup Dashboard: Receiving YPG
- Chris Godwin (O/U 63.5 receiving yards) has been a steady presence in TB’s passing game in 2024 and is averaging 6.4 receptions, 8 targets and over 77 receiving YPG. He and the Bucs will face a Saints’ defense that is excellent against the run (8th in rushing YPG) but struggles against the pass (26th in passing YPG). Godwin has had at least 8 targets in 4 of 5 games this season and is a sideshow to the explosive rivalry between Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore. The Saints were just torched by Pat Mahomes (28-39, 331 yards) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (7 receptions, 130 yards) a week ago. Godwin caught a combined 11 balls for 195 yards and 1 TD on 16 targets in two matchups against NO last season.
- DJ Moore (O/U 66.5 receiving yards) has enjoyed an uptick in production as Caleb Williams has emerged over the L3 weeks. He is averaging 8 targets, 5 receptions and and 68 receiving YPG in that span and will now line up against a Jacksonville secondary that ranks 31st in passing YPG and 30th in passes of 10+ yards. Nico Collins (12 receptions, 151 yards, 1 TD), Tyreek Hill (7 receptions, 130 yards, 1 TD) and Jaylen Waddle (5 receptions, 109 yards) have all had significant success against the Jags in 2024.
- Stefon Diggs (O/U 61.5 receiving yards) should pick up significant target share in Nico Collins’ absence in Week 6 against a NE secondary that ranks 24th in passing YPG and 27th in passes of 10+ allowed. Over the L3 weeks, Diggs is averaging 7 receptions, nearly 10 targets and nearly 82 receiving YPG and will play an even more prominent role in Houston’s top-ranked passing attack with Nico Collins on IR.
- CeeDee Lamb (O/U 86.5 receiving yards) is the obvious beneficiary of a matchup against Detroit’s 27th ranked secondary that has been lit up by competent passing offenses in 2024; Lamb caught 13 balls for 227 yards and 1 TD in Week 17 against Detroit in 2023. Given Detroit’s strength in defending the run, Lamb should figure to see a significant amount of targets in Dallas’ offensive gameplan.
Other honorable mentions:
- Drake London (O/U 65.5 receiving yards) is tied for 4th in the league in total targets and 3rd in receptions of 10+ yards and fresh off a Week 5 performance in which he caught 12 balls for 154 yards and 1 TD on 13 targets. He will face a Carolina secondary that ranks 22nd in passing YPG and 29th in YPA in Week 6.
- Terry McLaurin (O/U 61.5 rushing yards) has cleared 100+ yards receiving in 2 of the L3 weeks and will now match up against a Baltimore secondary that ranks 32nd in the league in passing YPG allowed. Washington is going to rely heavily on the passing game considering Baltimore has the league’s top ranked rushing defense, but McLaurin is a boom or bust candidate thus far in 2024.
